Chain Of Gold - Cassandra Clare | BOOK REVIEW

CASSANDRA CLARE HAS DONE IT AGAIN. This book was a fast-paced, funny and exciting with complex but loveable characters that just lept off the page.

If you love cassie's other books then you will love this one<3.

THE CHARACTERS

One of my favourite things about this book - as with all Cassandra Clare's books - was the characters. She has this wonderful way of writing characters that makes you connect with them right from the first page. Although there were a lot of new characters in this book, they all felt well-rounded and interesting. And the ones that didn't get as much page time i'm sure we'll see more of in the latter books.

THE PLOT

There was soooo many elements to this plot. Every character had their own sub-plots which made the whole book so exciting! I just couldn't put it down because there was always something going on! The main story was very mysterious and i'm glad we finally found out more about Tessa's heritage. I loved how it expanded on the books we already had but was also a story on its own. THIS BOOK WAS JUST SO GOOD!!!!

THE SETTING

It was soooooo good to read another shadowhunters book set in London! It is definitely one of my favourite settings and the london institute will always have a special place in my heart<3.

The setting really came alive in this one i could picture everything so well! i just loved it alot.

OK SO NOW SOME SPOILERS

I wanted to talk about some of my favourite scenes etc so if you haven't read chain of gold yet then pls don't read on:

- WHEN CORDELIA WAS READING TO JAMES WHEN HE WAS ILL. Honestly from that moment i was just on board with shipping these two. It was adorable

- On a similar vein, thE SCENE WHERE THEY WERE 'PRETENDING' IN THE HELL RUELLE. Wow wow wow so much tension!!!!! I loved it

- AND OF COURSE THAT PROPOSAL SCENE maaaaan i didn't see that coming and i cANNOT wait to see how them getting MARRIED progresses in book 2.

- I also really loved the flashback scene with alastair and thomas in paris. I rEALLY hope we get to see more of them together in book 2 and that they stop their feud (damn u matthew)

- LUCIE AND JESSE. Honestly i loved every scene with Jesse Blackthorn he is such a sweetie<3. Him and lucie are sO GOOD TOGETHER and i can't wait to see how lucie goes about saving him in book 2.

- THAT SCENE WHERE CORDELIA STABBED BELIAL WITH CORTANA THAT WAS SO BADASS. I wish cordelia and emma could meet i feel like they would get on very well.

But yeah this review is a complete mess but i just loved this book alot and if you like Cassandra Clare then just go read it<3
