"They've never found the body of the first boy who broke my heart. And they never will" This is the first line of "The Shadows Between Us" and if that doesn't hook you in then I don't know what will!

THIS BOOK IS GOING STRAIGHT ONTO MY FAVOURITES LIST.
Political Intrigue, Electrifying Romance and Badass, morally-grey characters The Shadows Between Us was filled with everything i love.

This book follows Alessandra who is tired of being overlooked by society. What she wants more than anything is Power - and she has a plan to get it.
She's going to woo the king, get him to marry her and then kill him and take the throne.
However, the king is guarded and it isn't as easy to woo him as she thought. Many are seeking to take his life and she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough to become queen.

The plot in this one was fast paced and oh so addictive. I literally couldn't put it down because there wasn't a dull moment. As the book went on, the stakes grew higher, the tension built and I just HAD to know what would happen!

Another thing that made this book so great was the characters. They just lept off the page and made you care about them so much. The heroine, Alessandra, is ruthless and determined to get what she wants. Kallias wants to conquer the world but is also a lil bit of a softie. Honestly the two of them are just the perfect match. They are both very ambitious and will do anything to get what they want.

That brings me on to the romance. THE ROMANCE! it was sOOOO GOOD. The tension between these two was REAL! And when they finally did get together it just felt so right! As i mentioned before, they match each other perfectly and it was just so great to read a romance where they both understand each others flaws and love each other because of them. Amazing<3.

Overall, this book was amazing. If you haven't read it yet then go add it to your tbr pile. This is the perfect book for those who love an enemies-to-lovers romance and lots of political scheming. Perfect for fans of the cruel prince<3
